Missions Activities *The congregation gathered 189 pounds of winter coats and jackets and delivered them to Denver Urban Ministries for distribution to folks in need. *The Administrative Council sent fourteen adults plus food for about forty people down to Urban Peak on Saturday evening, November 4. We served about 20 youth and ourselves a chili supper. Urban Peak is an agency which houses youth who are homeless in Denver, and which offers GED classes and employment services. The Ad Council intends to donate kitchen supplies and blankets and sheets and toiletries during the next year to this important cause. *Missions Committee delivered extra diapers which had been donated by our Parents Day Out program to Alternatives for Family Violence, which runs a women’s shelter in the north area of the Denver metro. We also took a donation of baby supplies and are gathering coats and toiletries for the shelter. *Trustees are collecting funds for a United Methodist Advance project in the Congo which trains war refugees in fishing and farming skills so they can become self-sufficient again. *The United Methodist Women hosted a Halloween party for 83 children of our community and their parents. They also continue to gather supplies for the Warm Hearts, Warm Babies project. Visit us frequently as we always have something new to share with you!
